A hacker group, mecrobyte, has claimed they successfully breached the core servers of La Poste Tunisienne, Tunisia’s national postal service. In a post on a dark web forum, they said this attack was in response to the postal agency’s cooperation with local surveillance authorities and its alleged role in violating citizens’ privacy.
According to the hackers, they now have:
- Full root access to the main mail servers
- Control over financial and customer data
- Access to internal parcel tracking systems
- The ability to change, steal, or manipulate user information
- A backdoor installed for long-term access
They openly listed the target website as https://www.poste.tn and confirmed the servers were “ROOTED,” meaning completely compromised.
