A newly emerged ransomware group, D4rk4rmy, has claimed responsibility for an attack on Mafate Business Enterprise, a prominent black-owned mining supply company based in Steelport, South Africa. This incident marks one of the group’s first campaigns, as they only began operations on July 7, 2025, and already list five victims on their leak site.
According to their post, D4rk4rmy has compromised Mafate’s systems and is threatening to leak sensitive corporate documents if their ransom demands are not met. Mafate operates across mining, construction, ready-mix concrete, and automotive franchises, making any data exposure potentially disruptive to its clients and partners.
