A threat actor operating under the name mrdump has claimed full access to the Algerian Customs Ministry’s systems, announcing the breach on a popular dark web forum on June 19, 2025.
According to the post, the attackers have successfully taken control of the ministry’s entire digital infrastructure, including the control management panel. Sensitive data is reportedly under review, with PDF dumps expected to be released soon.
The actor hints that some of the compromised records reveal export links between Algeria and Israel — data they claim contradicts Algeria’s official political stance. The post describes the dump as “raw data from inside their own systems,” with no redactions or filters promised.
If verified, this breach could expose highly sensitive customs records, trade agreements, and import/export documentation, potentially impacting Algeria’s national security, diplomatic relations, and regional trade.
This is not the first recent government breach claimed by mrdump, who has also targeted other Algerian ministries in recent weeks — suggesting a possible ongoing campaign against public sector infrastructure in the country.
Algerian authorities will need to investigate and assess the impact of this breach immediately, particularly given the sensitive geopolitical nature of the alleged data.
