A threat actor operating under the alias Keymous has released files allegedly belonging to Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity. The leak reportedly includes personal and confidential documents tied to ministers and governmental figures across various Arab and African nations.
According to the post on a popular underground forum, the data contains:
- Passport images
- National ID numbers
- Names and contact details (including emails and phone numbers)
- Government-related records
The attacker claimed to have exposed a total of 237 lines and files, including both documents and identity information.
This incident is another reminder of how ministries and public-sector entities in Africa and the Middle East are becoming attractive targets for cyberattacks, not just for financial gain but for political, ideological, or reputational damage.
