A highly sensitive breach targeting Tunisia’s military infrastructure has been claimed on the dark web. The threat actor mrdump has posted details of a successful operation in which they extracted a large volume of classified files from a secret underground weapons depot at Mount Chaâbanbi.
The leaked materials include:
- Thermal surveillance images of the underground site
- Detailed architectural and engineering schematics
- Full inventory of weapons and ammunition
- Internal military documents
The attackers released screenshots showing thermal scans of the facility entrance, sectional engineering drawings of the underground bunkers, and weapons inventory lists. GPS coordinates and key structural data were also exposed.
In an accompanying message, the actor wrote:
“This operation resulted in the discovery of a secret underground weapons depot in Mount Chaâbanbi, from which a substantial amount of valuable data was extracted, including thermal images, detailed engineering plans, and all components of the weapons and ammunition stored therein. These data will be shared shortly.”
Additionally, the actor openly stated that the breach is part of an ongoing retaliation campaign, writing:
“This breach is a result of actions carried out by certain Tunisian teams over the past months, in cooperation with other Algerian groups. We are now here solely to reclaim our rights, and with multiplied force.”
This development significantly escalates the ongoing cyber tensions in the region. The release of this type of military intelligence — especially bunker schematics and heat signatures — creates severe operational risks for Tunisia’s armed forces.
With adversaries now in possession of detailed plans for this underground depot, the likelihood of targeted attacks or sabotage has increased.
Tunisian military authorities must urgently assess the impact of this exposure, strengthen security across other sensitive installations, and prepare for potential retaliatory activity.
