A pro-Tunisian hacktivist group, calling itself Hider_Nex, has claimed responsibility for a series of cyberattacks targetingoccan digital platforms, including government websites and financial institutions. The attacks appear to be part of a retaliation campaign in support of Tunisia and Palestine.
Targeted Victims
Ministry of National Education – Morocco: The attackers attacked the website connected to the Massar educational system, claiming it was the start of a cyberwar over Tunisia’s stance on Palestine. They also shared a list of alleged government email credentials belonging to education ministry staff.
BMCI Bank – bmci.ma: BMCI, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas, was also targeted. Screenshots shared by the attackers show internal banking interfaces. They described the breach as a strike on Morocco’s financial institutions.
CIH Bank – cihbank.ma: CIH Bank’s website was brought offline as part of the same campaign. The group provided third-party uptime monitoring links as proof.
The hacktivist group framed the attack as a response to Morocco’s alleged cyber activities targeting Tunisia, stating:
“Tunisia stands with Palestine until its last breath… You have started a war from which you will not escape.”
They used hashtags including #FreePalestine
and #OPMorocco
, suggesting the operation may evolve into a wider movement.
