A threat actor going by sanji_shi5 has posted on a dark web forum claiming to have allegedly breached Algeria Telecom, the country’s primary telecommunications provider. The actor says they are selling a database containing more than 500,000 rows of customer data, offered in CSV format.
According to the listing, the database includes:
- Email addresses
- Full names
- Phone numbers
- Addresses (city, state, zip)
- Gender
- And hashed passwords
A short sample was shared, showing Algerian names, phone numbers, emails, and hashed passwords, along with account status labels.
If authentic, this leak could expose hundreds of thousands of Algerians to risks like targeted phishing, SIM swap attempts, or broader identity theft — while also putting Algeria Telecom under serious scrutiny for its data protection practices.
