A pro-Tunisian hacktivist group, Tunisian Maskers Cyber Force, has claimed responsibility for breaching Ibn Tofaïl University in Morocco. The group posted a message on their Telegram channel, stating they had “h*cked” the university in collaboration with fellow actor Keymous, and released a partial CSV dump containing sensitive university data.
The leaked file includes:
- Full names
- National ID numbers (CIN)
- Dates of birth
- Phone numbers
- University email addresses
- Academic role (e.g., student, teacher)
A sample viewed by CyHawk Africa shows records of staff and students from the Université Ibn Tofaïl domain (uit.ac.ma
).
The post included the university’s logo along with a threat in both English and Arabic, saying:
“We have destroyed this university in Morocco with our brothers Keymous, and we will leak the data soon.”
The attack appears to be politically motivated, part of the ongoing cyber conflict between Tunisia and Morocco. Institutions in Morocco’s education sector are urged to remain on high alert and strengthen internal security systems.
