A threat actor operating under the alias Phantom Atlas has announced a significant cyber intrusion into the internal infrastructure of Algérie Télécom, the national telecommunications provider in Algeria. According to the dark web post, the attackers claim to have obtained complete access to internal network topology maps and critical infrastructure data.
The breach reportedly includes high-level schematics detailing:
- Network routes across Tizi Ouzou, Boumerdes, and Bouira provinces
- Specific pathways connecting Broadband Network Gateways (BNG) to international content servers like FNA and GGC
- Internal core routers and content distribution systems
- Data consumption metrics for different municipalities
- Visual maps of how Algeria’s domestic infrastructure connects to global networks
This exposure, if confirmed, poses a serious national security risk, as the diagrams reveal critical internet backbone routes and routing logic used by the country’s primary ISP.
The post includes both English and Arabic descriptions, further emphasizing the attacker’s intent to reach both global and regional audiences.
