A threat actor, KALOSHA319, has claimed responsibility for a major breach of the General Administration of Student Care at Minia University in Egypt. According to details shared on a dark web forum, the attacker managed to access and leak data pulled directly from the university’s internal control panel.
The leak reportedly involves over 8,400 lines of sensitive data, broken down across several files that include:
- Student approvals for applications
- Disability classification data
- Orphan classification data
- Details of students receiving social security and pensions
The exposed records reveal a broad range of personal details such as:
- Student names, codes, national ID numbers, addresses, and phone numbers
- Information on parents’ jobs and income
- Academic details like college, grade, and application status
- Family financial information and number of family members
The hacker also published data sets tied to the university staff and faculty. In particular, the files reportedly contain 20 volumes of data on doctors across various colleges at Minia University. Each file includes:
- Names, job titles or specialties
- Dates of appointment
- Qualifications and CVs (where available)
- Personal photographs
- National ID numbers and contact information
The hacker, who included taunts directed at the Egyptian government, said the breach was part of a broader anti-government stance. They also encouraged users to download the files from their Telegram channel, noting that all records are in Egyptian Arabic.
